Call for Scientific Presentations
AI Day 2023
The main annual event highlighting Finnish AI research and its applications taking place November 8, 2023, in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland.
The scientific program of AI Day 2023 is organized by Finnish Artificial Intelligence Society FAIS (Suomen tekoälyseura STeS, https:/stes.fi/).
Following the principles of FAIS, a key aim of the scientific program is to provide a comprehensive overview of the various AI research directions currently pursued in Finland. To this end, we encourage submissions presenting recent research results and innovative applications of all areas of AI, including (but not restricted to):
Agent-based and Multi-agent Systems (MAS)
Computational Intelligence (CI)
Computer Vision (CV)
Constraints, Satisfiability, and Optimization (CSO)
Games and Virtual Environments (GAME)
Heuristic Search (HEU)
Human Aspects in AI (HAI)
Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
Information Retrieval and Filtering (IRF)
Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR)
Machine Learning (ML)
Multidisciplinary Topics and Applications (MULT)
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Planning and Scheduling (PLAN)
Robotics (ROB)
Safe, Explainable, and Trustworthy AI (XAI)
Semantic Technologies (SEM)
Uncertainty in AI (UAI)
SUBMISSIONS
The focus of the scientific program is on communicating forefront research accomplishments of the Finnish AI research community already published or to-be-published in international peer-reviewed publication forums. To this end, we invite submission of abstracts up to 2000 characters, ideally accompanied by an already published or recently submitted scientific article on the topic. In case the work has already been published, a submission may consist of the paper abstract and the paper, preferably via an URL or, otherwise, as a PDF supplement. If the submission is not based on an existing article, also other material such as a video presentation, an online/system demonstration or, a poster, can be provided. As there will be no published formal proceedings, submitting work for presentation at AI Day 2023 will not disqualify the work from being published at peer-reviewed forums.
Submissions are closed.
IMPORTANT DATES
Abstract submission deadline: September 6, 2023
Notifications: September 15, 2023
SELECTION PROCESS AND PRESENTATIONS
The submissions will be screened for suitability, with an emphasis on scientific relevance in terms of AI research and interest to the Finnish AI research community broadly interpreted. A key aim in the selection of presentations is to obtain a balanced scientific program covering the various AI research directions pursued in Finland. The program committee consists of the current FAIS board, with expertise on a wide range of AI research areas.
Accepted papers/works will be presented either as talks (15 minutes including questions) in AI Day's scientific sessions and/or as posters in AI Day's poster session. Detailed instructions on the final form of scientific presentations will be provided later to authors of accepted presentations.
For questions related to submissions to the scientific program of AI Day 2023, please send an email to stes@stes.fi.
